Important Info for Subscribers

March 20, 2008 02:16:23 AM

It's come to our attention recently that some of you have had your Paypal account/credit cards rebilled for another yearly subscription of Taverncast subscriber material. While we appreciate your continued support, some of you have noted that you didn't intend to sign up for recurring donations. We didn't intend the system to re-bill, and there is nothing we can do now to change that status on our end as we can't access any controls on PayPal that will specify the billing period. After discussing the issue with Paypal, we've been told that you will need to contact them directly (or your credit card provider) to cancel any upcoming donation payments that may be scheduled. We can't change that on our side, since the payment was initiated from you directly to us.

If you have any questions about this, we encourage you to contact us directly using the Private Messaging system on the Taverncast forums. Just message Cromley and he'll get back to you as quickly as possible. Please don't post billing concerns in the public areas as they will be deleted to protect your privacy. You can also email him at cromley@taverncast.com.
A million pardons for any confusion, or unwanted billing. We value those of you who do wish to donate to the show, and want to make sure your gift to us does not exceed your intended scope. We appreciate your continued support and enjoyment of Taverncast.

Addendum - (Cromley here) - When I originally set up the paypal donations, I had one-time and recurring yearly payment buttons. I didn't realize at the time that paypal would automatically charge people every year, and that we'd have no report on who was subscribed. When we redid the site (about a year ago now) I got rid of the subscribe buttonĀ  - but unfortunately I have no way of canceling subscriptions - you'll have to do that yourself through your paypal account.

Hillarious and Informative! Where do I begin? First of all, the hosts of Taverncast are all incredibly hilarious. Second of all, their information is great. Not only that, when you think the show is going to get boring, BAM - something crazy happens. This podcast makes my workday go by 10 times faster.
